Violet Abbott of Cincinnati;Ohio;formerly of New Florence R.D.2;died suddenly on Wednesday; April 8;1987;at 4:30 p.m.at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cincinnati. She was 74. Mrs.Abbott was born Oct 26;1912;in New Florence R.D.2;a daughter of the late Samuel and Olive Gamble Marshall. She was a member of the Salvation Army of Newport;Ky. Mrs.Abbott was a veteran;having served with the W.A.C.S.during World War II;and with the Army Air Corps during the Korean Conflict. She was retired from the accounting department of the Internal Revenue Service in Covington;Ky. Survivors include her husband;Melvin Abbott;one brother;George Marshall of Cincinnati;two sisters;Viola Closson of Turtle Creek and Helen Closson of Blairville;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and on Tuesday;April 14;until 1:30 p.m.;at which time services will be held with Captain Gerald Johns of the Salvation Army of Newport;Ky.;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
