Obituary

Violet Abbott of Cincinnati,Ohio,formerly of New Florence R.D.2,died suddenly on Wednesday, April 8,1987,at 4:30 p.m.at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cincinnati. She was 74. Mrs.Abbott was born Oct 26,1912,in New Florence R.D.2,a daughter of the late Samuel and Olive Gamble Marshall. She was a member of the Salvation Army of Newport,Ky. Mrs.Abbott was a veteran,having served with the W.A.C.S.during World War II,and with the Army Air Corps during the Korean Conflict. She was retired from the accounting department of the Internal Revenue Service in Covington,Ky. Survivors include her husband,Melvin Abbott,one brother,George Marshall of Cincinnati,two sisters,Viola Closson of Turtle Creek and Helen Closson of Blairville,and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and on Tuesday,April 14,until 1:30 p.m.,at which time services will be held with Captain Gerald Johns of the Salvation Army of Newport,Ky.,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
