Obituary

John Ambrose of Ellsworth died at 6:10 p.m.Tuesday,March 27,1984,in Washington Hospital. Mr.Ambrose was 66. He was born March 20,1918,in Shoaf,a son of the late Charles and Mary Medvitz Ambrose. He was a retired coal miner who was employed by Bethlehem Mines Corp.,Ellsworth Division,and was a member of united Mine Workers of America Local 1197 in Ellsworth. Mr.Ambrose was a Catholic and a lifelong resident of the Bentleyville-Ellsworth area. He was a member of
Fraternal Order of Eagles
No. 1809, the Independent
Club, the Lithuanian Club,
and Polish National Alliance
No. 1930, all of Bentleyville.
He also was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II and a
member of Bentleyville
American Legion Post 165
and Bentleyville Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 5454.
He is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Barry
(Carolyn) Baltich of
Ellsworth and Mrs. August
(Colleen) Marios Jr. of
Eighty Four R.D. 2, six
grandchildren, Barry, David
and Sarah Baltich, and
Michele, Kimberly and
Daniel August Marios, six
sisters, Mrs. Agnes
McMenimen of Alexandria,
Va., Mrs. Peter (Anna May)
Bosnak of Warren, N.J., Mrs.
Lebert (Helen) Pierallini of
Belle Vernon, Mrs. Frank
(Betty) Gagus of Van
Voorhis, Mrs. John (Irene)
Murray of Eaton, Colo., and
Mrs. Doroth Griffin of Norfolk, Va., and several nieces
and nephews.
One sister, Mrs. Margaret
Shaw, is deceased.
Friends will be received
Thursday from 1 to 9 p.m. in
the Kenneth V. Thompson
Funeral Home, 809 Main St.,Bentleyville,where a Blessing service will be held Friday,March 30,at 2 p.m.with the Rev.Michael T.Gubanich,pastor of St.Clement Church,Ellsworth,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Kenneth V.Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
