Edward Kostella; 72; of Rostraver Township; passed away Friday; April 11; 2014; in his home. A son of the late John and Mary Gongoski Kostella; he was born in Rostraver Township on March 25; 1942. A lifelong resident of Rostraver; he was Catholic by faith; a member of Teamsters Local 585; and employed by Joy Mining Co.; Houston warehouse. He was an avid gardener; fisherman and hunter. Survivors include one sister; Mary Rita Rozik; with whom he made his home; and her beloved friend; Joseph Repine of Belle Vernon; and Ed’s beloved friend; Constance Walmsley of Donora. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by three brothers; John; Robert and Thomas Kostella. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC.; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon;http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
