Obituary

 

Herman W. Lazzari, 81, of Waynesburg, formerly of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, in the home of his daughter Laurie. A son of the late Armando and Dorothy Treater Lazzari, he was born in Belle Vernon on Sept. 6, 1932. Herman had resided in Waynesburg for the past 35 years, was a member of the Waynesburg Legion, Post 330, and, for over 20 years, had been the owner of Lazzari Instrumentation, retiring in 1997. A private pilot, flying planes was one of his great passions. He was an avid fisherman and served with the U.S. Army in Korea. Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Laurie Lazzari-Charnack and companion, Glen Halt, of Belle Vernon, Lydia and Carl Zanardini of Stockdale, Lisa and Tony Strasiser of Hooversville and Liane and Thomas Churney of Paw Paw, Mich., two sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris and Tom Barruso of Pittsburgh and Elaine Smith of Monessen, one brother and sister-in-law, David and Drissey Lazzari of Belle Vernon, eight grandchildren, Lex and Toby Charnack, Max, Tony and Gus Strasiser, Lee and Laci Zanardini and Abbey Churney, several nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Johann Lazzari of Stockdale. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, on Saturday, March 8, 2014. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. with the father Kua Apple officiating, 724-929-5300, ,http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. If friends wish, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
