Herman W. Lazzari; 81; of Waynesburg; formerly of Belle Vernon; passed away Sunday; March 2; 2014; in the home of his daughter Laurie. A son of the late Armando and Dorothy Treater Lazzari; he was born in Belle Vernon on Sept. 6; 1932. Herman had resided in Waynesburg for the past 35 years; was a member of the Waynesburg Legion; Post 330; and; for over 20 years; had been the owner of Lazzari Instrumentation; retiring in 1997. A private pilot; flying planes was one of his great passions. He was an avid fisherman and served with the U.S. Army in Korea. Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law; Laurie Lazzari-Charnack and companion; Glen Halt; of Belle Vernon; Lydia and Carl Zanardini of Stockdale; Lisa and Tony Strasiser of Hooversville and Liane and Thomas Churney of Paw Paw; Mich.; two sisters and a brother-in-law; Doris and Tom Barruso of Pittsburgh and Elaine Smith of Monessen; one brother and sister-in-law; David and Drissey Lazzari of Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren; Lex and Toby Charnack; Max; Tony and Gus Strasiser; Lee and Laci Zanardini and Abbey Churney; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife; Johann Lazzari of Stockdale.
