Obituary

 

George Rube Williams, 68, of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. He was born Aug. 7, 1945, in Washington Township, son of the late George Williams Sr. and the late Annette Tiernan Williams. He was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., Allenport Plant. Rube was a member of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club, Naomi Athletic Club, PNA No. 976 Arnold City, Fayette City American Legion, Fayette City Slovenic Club and the Belle Vernon Russian Club. He is survived by his wife, Pamela K. Roberts Williams, two sons, Preston Williams of Belle Vernon and Jason Williams of Charleroi, two daughters, Sharon Joll of Belle Vernon and Georganne Hulsman of the state of California, 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Danny and Harry Williams. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, 724-326-5621, ,http://www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, in the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Boring officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
