Obituary

Dottie Mae Axton, 66, of Monessen, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 6, 2013, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1946, to the late Floyd and Maria Miller. Dottie moved to the Mon Valley and began raising her family, whom she loved dearly—always willing to do anything for you. Dottie leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Wayne Axton (Carla) of Charleroi, Bruce Davis (Maritza) of Monessen, Greg Davis and Jerome Pryor Jr., both of Monessen, four daughters, Mrs. Shalon (Eugene) Frezzell of Monessen, Edna Axton and Helen Axton of Monessen and Nycol Davis of Monessen, brothers and sisters, Juanita Miller, Freida (Charles) Jackson, Barbara Miller, all of Brownsville, Richard Miller of New Salen, Pa., Gladys (Donnie) Ferrari of California, Pa., Floyd Miller of Uniontown and Eddy Miller of Tampa, Fla., Jerry (Susan) Miller of Virginia, James Miller and Lalita Miller of Virginia. Dottie raised her first grandson, Joseph Dale Axton of Charleroi, with whom she had a special bond, and also a number of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Axton, brother, Joseph Miller, sisters, Linda Williams, Jacqueline Miller and Conchita Miller. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 645 McMahon Ave., Monessen. On Thursday, she will be moved to the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Brushton Ave., Charleroi, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon. Services entrusted to the WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME. Trudy Taylor Bristol, director in charge of arrangements.
