Obituary

Faye Arlene Pavtis, 71, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 4, 2013. A daughter of the late Joseph W. and Blanche A. (Nigra) Eley, she was born in Pricedale Sept. 8, 1941. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and, for the past 15 years, had been employed as a customer service associate at the Belle Vernon Walmart. Faye’s joy was her grandchildren, being at the beach and visiting lighthouses. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Pavtis-Lewis and Michael Lewis of Mesa, Ariz., three sons and two daughters-in-law, William Pavtis, at home, Gordon L. Jr. and Joni (Demko) Pavtis of Chesterfield, Va., and Larry M. and Carrie (Clark) Pavtis of Belle Vernon, one brother and sister-in-law, Ronald W. and Kathryn (Praskavich) Eley of San Tan Valley, Ariz., one sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl (Eley) and Richard McLaughlin of Belle Vernon, and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Jordan and Kayela Pavtis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lee Pavtis Sr. in 1970. Family and friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Additional visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon, the time of services, Wednesday, in the First United Methodist Church, State and Market streets, Belle Vernon. The Rev. Ken Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
