Obituary

Mary Ellen Hazlett., 89, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in UPMC Mercy Hospital. A daughter of the late Walter and Mary Welsh Barker, she was born in Fayette City on December 5, 1930. A beloved mother to her daughter, Beverly Hazlett, she attended the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and was an elementary teacher in Belle Vernon School District for 40 years. She belonged to the PASR and the Cal Girls (an organization from California University). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hazlett on July 28, 2002; four brothers, Harold, Raymond, William, and James; and a sister, Mildred Mattingly. A private visitation was held. A memorial service will be in the funeral home at a later date.
