Augustine Soroka; 97; formerly of Belle Vernon; passed away on Dec. 31; 2013; at Nevaeh Cove Personal Care Home; Charleroi. A daughter of the late Theodore and Irene Pawlack Soroka; she was born in Pricedale on Oct. 12; 1916. Augustine was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church; St. Barbara’s Altar Guild and the Belle Vernon Golden Agers. She was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. Augustine had been employed by Monongahela Valley Hospital as a seamstress and the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital before her retirement in 1988. Survivors include four sisters and three brothers-in-law; Stevanna Lis of HopewellTownship; Helen Evansky and her husband; William; of Forest Hills; Vera Trona and her husband; Anthony; of Canonsburg; and Martha Zeli and her husband; Ronald; of Belle Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by three sisters; Eva Smith; Ann Soroka and Irene Goresh; three brothers; Michael Soroka; Steve Soroka and Archpriest Theodore Soroka.
