Obituary

Janice K. Lindey Young, 72, of Fayette City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, in her home. A daughter of the late Stan and Esther Gardner Coldren, she was born in Gillespie on April 30, 1938. Janice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, of Fayette City, and had resided in the Fayette City area for most of her adult life. She had been employed for 12 years at the former Belle Vernon Kroger store. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Terry Lindey-Falco, of Miami, and Gretchen and Gregg Hazelbaker, of Lynnwood, three sons and two daughters-in-law, John and Diane Lindey, of Miami, Kenneth and Eileen Lindey, of Dunlevy, and Eric Lindey, of Washington Township, three stepchildren, Brenda Bennett, Don and Michael Young, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Sachio Saito, of Chevy Chase, Md., Janet and Clark Gailey, of Darlington, and Joan and Jim DeCarlo, of Perryopolis, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Carol Coldren and Ron and Helen Coldren, all of Perryopolis, 10 grandchildren, Shalee Aller, Amy Montoya, Michele Riggin, Billy and Chris Gardner, Aaron Thompson, Valerie, Shannon, Hannah and Hattie Lindey, and 10 great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kenny Riggin, Brian and Brandon Gardner, Jake and Kyle Aller, Aiden and Carson Thompson, Darian Allenworth and Bryce Lindey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Lindey, in 1987, second husband, Don Young in 2006, one son, William B. Lindey, on March 10, 2010, and one grandson, Dion Thompson, also in 2010. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-5300. www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Sheppard officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
