Obituary

Wanda F. Atkinson, 82, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, in Westmoreland Manor, after an extended stay. A daughter of the late William and Irene Sterner Davis, she was born in Belle Vernon on Aug. 18, 1929. Protestant by faith, Wanda had been a lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon. She was a former employee of the Hill's and Kmart Department stores. Survivors include her high school sweetheart and husband of 63 1/2 years, Wallace William Atkinson, two daughters and sons-in-law, Darla and Timothy Zeffe, of North Belle Vernon, and Lyndell and Stephen Koslasky, of Moon Township, four grandchildren, Melissa Zeli and her husband, Samuel, of Youngwood, Erin Watson and her husband, George, of Frostburg, Md., Meghan Zeffe and her friend, Daniel Henry, of North Belle Vernon, and Nicolas Koslasky and his wife, Jessica, of Pittsburgh, and eight great-grandchildren, Jack, Luke and Ethan Zeli, George, Timothy and Matthew Watson, Isaac Pope and Isabella Zeffe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Douglas Koslasky in 2003, and two brothers, Harvey and John Davis. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., (724) 929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Suzanne Currie officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Westmoreland Manor A-3 and the entire building for their loving care of Wanda. She was truly treated like one of their own.
