Obituary

 

Edward R. Misenko, 91, of Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at his home. Born July 14, 1922, in Brownsville, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Mattis Misenko. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 70 years, Mr. Misenko was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen Coke Plant, where he worked as a general turn foreman, was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 945. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Kathryn Myers of Belle Vernon, Carol and Pete Mazzei of Belle Vernon, brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Louise Misenko of Ohio, three grandchildren, Chad Mazzei and fiancee, Shannon, of New Castle, Colo., Aaron Mazzei of Glenwood Springs, Colo. and Dr. Megan Myers of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty E. Albright Misenko on May 25, 2010, daughter, Janet M. Misenko 2010, son-in-law, Timothy O. Myers 2009, a son in infancy, and a brother, John Misenko. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Edward Misenko Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
