Edward R. Misenko; 91; of Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; Feb. 19; 2014; at his home. Born July 14; 1922; in Brownsville; he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Mattis Misenko. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 70 years; Mr. Misenko was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen Coke Plant; where he worked as a general turn foreman; was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 945. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law; Kathryn Myers of Belle Vernon; Carol and Pete Mazzei of Belle Vernon; brother and sister-in-law; Ralph and Louise Misenko of Ohio; three grandchildren; Chad Mazzei and fiancee; Shannon; of New Castle; Colo.; Aaron Mazzei of Glenwood Springs; Colo. and Dr. Megan Myers of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by his wife; Betty E. Albright Misenko on May 25; 2010; daughter; Janet M. Misenko 2010; son-in-law; Timothy O. Myers 2009; a son in infancy; and a brother; John Misenko. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick; pastor; as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Edward Misenko Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
