Obituary

Lois J. Culbertson, 82, of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, in her home. A daughter of the late William and Jessie Sylvester Dawson, she was born on July 20, 1927, in Belle Vernon. Catholic by faith, Lois was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Mon Valley Bridge Club. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she worked at the former Hill's Department Store for over 20 years. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Joe Fazzini, of Acme, one son, Ken Culbertson, and his friend, Sandi, of North Charleroi, one brother, Jack Dawson, of Rostraver Township, five grandchildren, Kristen Juba, and husband, Todd, of Oakmont, Joshua Golomb, and wife Leslie, of Lancaster, Patrick Fazzini, of York, Patricia Patterson, and husband Cory, and Meagan Culbertson, all of Greensburg, and six great-grandchildren, Ana Juba, Noah, Connor and Taylor Golomb and Clover and Patrick Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Culbertson, in 1973, one son, Terry, in infancy, and one brother, William Dawson. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. A blessing service will be in the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Manchas, pastor of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
