Obituary

Karen A. Savona, 64, of Brownsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, in Shadyside Hospital. She was born on Aug. 30, 1945, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Frank and Veronica Shillings Partches. She is survived by two children, Michael Savona, of Philadelphia, and Tara Johnson and husband, Blair, of Brownsville, grandchildren, Kenley Anne and Aiden Johnson, three sisters, Alexis Valley, Veronica Kenney and Debra Galanoudis. Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at noon in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, with the Rev. Father James Petrovsky as celebrant. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A wake service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in support of Autism research and outreach to: Steven's Supporters Inc., 125 Black Walnut Lane, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
