Andrew J. Pap Kurey; 92; of Belle Vernon; passed away on Sunday; Aug. 5; 2012; in the Victoria House; Monessen. He was born April 18; 1920; in Monessen; a son of the late John F. and Mary Fertal Kurey. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the former St. Cajetan Church of Monessen. He was a member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club. Andrew was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Veteran of World War II; having served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a foreman for American Chain and Cable; Pages Division; for 42 years prior to his retirement. Surviving are two sons; Richard and wife; Cheryl Kurey of Avon Lake; Ohio; and Ronald Kurey and wife; Maria Tetteris of Belle Vernon. A special niece; Patricia Pettko; two granddaughters; Amy and Dr. Steve Spaulding and Alyssa and Phil Truax; four great-grandchildren; Isabella; William; Alexander and Mariana; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives; Laura Santori Kurey and Lois Davis Kurey; brothers; John; Michael; Joseph and George Kurey; two sisters; Anna Pettko and Margaret Feehan. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC.; Family Owned and Operated as a Member of the Golden Rule; 1209 Grand Blvd.; Monessen; where friends will be welcomed from and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday; Aug. 6. Services will be held in the chapel of the Rhome Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday; Aug. 7; 2012; at 10 a.m. with Father Michael Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery; Belle Memorial. Contributions; in Mr. Kurey’s name; may be made to the Monessen Public Library or to the Salvation Army through the funeral home.
