Clarence A. Weibl; 90; of N. Belle Vernon; passed away Tuesday; December 15; 2009 in his home. A son of the late Frederick and Julia Hofer Weibl; he was born in Rostraver Twp. on February 25; 1919. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion; Post 659; both of Belle Vernon; and retired from the steam plant at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company. Clarence loved gardening and was a purple heart recipient of the U.S. Army serving in the battle of Guadalcanal. Suriviors include his wife of 63 years; Paula Caban Weibl; one son and daughter-in-law; Daniel and Linda Weibl and one granddaughter; Danielle Weible; all of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by two sisters; Ida McElfresh and Louise and seven brothers; Frank; Edward; Fritz; Carl; Raymond; Phillip and John Weibl. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday led by members of St. Sebastian Parish and the American Legion; Post 659 will meet to hold services at 7 P.M. Thursday.
