Obituary

Tedd T. Pettibon, 55, of Harrisburg, PA died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Harrisburg Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg. Born October 21, 1958 in Rochester, PA, he was the son of Dr. William Glenn Pettibon and the late Betty Arlayne (Toner) Pettibon. Tedd graduated from Susquehanna Township High School Class of 1977, Harrisburg, obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA, and later obtained a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, TX. Tedd was a sculptor and artist specializing in large-scale, industrial materials, including bronze casts, steel, glass, and concrete. He was an adjunct professor of art teaching at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design and Franklin & Marshall College, both in Lancaster, Pa. To view some of his sculptures and read more about this prodigious artist, please visit pettibonsculptures.com.  He was a member of the Robert Burns Lodge, 464 Free and Accepted Masons, Harrisburg, Pa. and Grace United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, Pa. In addition to his father, Tedd is survived by two sisters, Tolly P. (Timothy A.) Sherry of Exton, PA and Tracy P. (LTC Paul L.) Carroll of Towson, MD; one brother, CDR Todd O. (Audrey S.) Pettibon of Fairfax, VA and nieces and nephews; Andrew, Bradley, Owen, Shea, Lindsey and Peri.  Tedd’s celebration of life memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Sunday, July 6, 2014 at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 North Street.,Harrisburg, Pa 17120. Pastor Brian Fetterman will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to The Foundation for Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Account 224689, Jennifer Pomplum Fund Sculpture Account, to support outstanding artwork at the undergraduate level.
