Obituary

Thomas W. Wagner, 77, of Rostraver Township, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Frank Allen Wagner and Anna Aiken Wagner, he was born in Belle Vernon (Gibsonton) on Oct. 27, 1931. Methodist by faith, Thomas had resided in Rostraver Township for the past 11 years and had formerly resided in State College, Peters Township and Belle Vernon. Thomas retired from the Sears store at South Hills Village, had worked at the former Gaudio's Men's Store in Monessen for many years and served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lauralee Solomon Wagner, one daughter and son-in-law, Heather Ann and Michael Johnson, of Bel Air, Md., two sons, Alex Wagner, of Monongahela, and Lee Wagner, of Altoona, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret Hileman, of Roanoke, Va., and Linda and William Elkin, of Bel Air, Md., one brother, Frank Wagner, of Watsontown, Pa., and three grandchildren, Kristin Marie Wagner, of Pittsburgh, Garrett James Johnson and Graham Thomas Johnson, both of Bel Air, Md. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Overand. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Thursday, May 7, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Zona officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Rostraver Public Library.
