Vincent Jim Manetta; 83; of Belle Vernon; passed away Thursday; March 22; 2012; in his home. A son of the late Berardino and Rose LaCarte Manetta; he was born in Monessen on April 26; 1928. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 53 years; he was formerly of Monessen. Jim was Catholic by faith; served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; was a member of the Monessen American Legion; Thomas McKee Post 28; and retired in 1993 from Rock-Tenn in Charleroi. Survivors include his wife of 53 years; Joanne Cunningham Manetta; one daughter and son-in-law; Susan and Dean Smith; of Monessen; one son; Vince Manetta; of Morgantown; W.Va.; four grandchildren; Carly Smith; of Pittsburgh; Matthew Manetta; of Helsinki; Finland; Rachael Manetta; of Dodge City; Kan.; and Steven Manetta; of Ames; Iowa; and two brothers; Bernardo Manett; of Belle Vernon; and Geno Manetta; of Smithton. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a daughter; in infancy; Joan Bernadetta Manetta in 1962; and one brother; Frank Manetta.
