Jesse J. Myers; 82; of North Belle Vernon; died Saturday; Jan. 24; 2009; at 4:05 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Sept. 11; 1926; in Belle Vernon; he was the son of the late William and Kathryn C. (Carter) Myers. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Mr. Myers was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Belle Vernon. He was a retired turn foreman from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport plant. Mr. Myers was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; having proudly served aboard the USS Providence. He also served as an assistant scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 541. He is survived by his wife; Sadye (Neil) Myers; to whom he was married 63 years; one daughter and son-in-law; Sharon and Edward Stefanick; of Fayette City; one son and daughter-in-law; John and Sherry Myers; of Finksburg; Md.; two grandchildren; Kristin Blair and husband Todd; and Ian Daniel Myers and wife Jennifer; and three great-grandchildren; Alyssa Blair; Brooke Myers and Riley Myers. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Herbert; George and William Myers; and one sister; Laura Virginia Myers. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Tuesday; Jan. 27; at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. David Zona of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
