Lawrence M. Moran; 79; of Belle Vernon (Fairhope); passed away in his home on Thursday; June 25; 2009. A son of the late Michael and Mary Oblak Moran; he was born in West Newton on May 26; 1930. A member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon; he had been a resident of Fairhope since 1967. Lawrence was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and retired in 1974 from the Irvin Works of U.S. Steel Co. After his retirement; he was self employed as a landscaper and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports; as well as landscaping around his own home. Survivors include his wife; Geraldine Hawk Moran; with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage on March 20; 2009; two daughters and one son-in-law; Romaine Moran. of La Plata; Md. and Tracey and Ronald Paugh; of Elkridge; Md; one sister; Amelia Dainty; of Lowber; one brother; John Moran; of West Newton; and two grandchildren; Ronald Lawrence Paugh and Kayli Nicole Paugh.
