Lyle W. Sinsley, 89, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2015, at his home. A son of the late Lyle W. and Ellen May White Sinsley, he was born in Belle Vernon on Jan. 12, 1926. He was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Belle Vernon. He was a volunteer for the Salvation Army ringing bells for many years. He worked as a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 1988. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 11th Airborne in the Pacific Theater, Philippine Islands. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara Nicholson Sinsley; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carlotta Seftas of Monessen and Susan (Kelly) Cate of Simi Valley, Calif.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Thomas (Brenda) Sinsley of Belle Vernon and David (Evangelia) Sinsley of Monessen; one sister, Joanne Sellers of Bethel Park; 10 grandchildren, Jason and Mark Seftas, Aaron, Daniel, Chelsea, and Meagan Sinsley, Brianna Cate, Alisa Sinsley, Brandon Cate, and Sophia Sinsley; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Alexis. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Fred Brucker officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
