Mary E. Yapchanyk, 94, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Elmer and Gertrude Taylor, she was born in Twilight on September 18, 1919. A resident of N. Belle Vernon most of her adult life, Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Lauralee Wagner of Rostraver Twp., Maryann Solomon of Lancaster and Carol Sue Bertovich of Monessen, one son and daughter-in-law, William and Connie Solomon of Pittsburgh, eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Herbert Lee Solomon on July 3, 1955, her 2nd husband, Russell Yapchanyk on Dec. 10, 2001, a grandson, Alex Wagner on July 15, 2013, a son-in-law, Thomas Wagner on May 4, 2009 and two brothers, Bartrum and Eugene Taylor.
