Louis C. Book, 77, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Clarkson and Emma Britt Book, he was born in Belle Vernon on August 23, 1940. Methodist by faith, Lou was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. After retiring from the Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin, Lou and his late wife, Helen, owned and operated the former Book Floral Shop from 1986-2001. He also was a school bus driver for Belle Vernon Area School District for several years. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law; Lou Ann Clayton and Ray Berkley of West Mifflin and Cindy Lou Kossar of Charleroi, a son and daughter-in-law, Louis "Butch" and Geraldine Book of Monessen, five grandchildren; Jesse Clayton, Nicholle Clayton, Carly Berkley, Katlyn Kossar, and Alan Book. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Helen L. Book on June 30, 2010, a sister, Gertrude Jean Book, and a brother, Theodore Book.
