Obituary

Renato 'Reno' Monticelli, 78, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Riccardo and Rosina Cheli Monticelli, he was born in Belle Vernon on April 8, 1933. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, he was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and retired in 1982 from the Charleroi Area School District where he was a bus driver and also worked in the maintenance department. Survivors include three nieces and four nephews, Jordan Benedetti of South Park, Pola Dugan of Irwin, Lorraine Koper of Monessen, Danny Monticelli of Rostraver Twp., Richard Krasula of Libertyville, IL, Darlene Fograse of Plainsfield, IL and Val Benedetti of Boca Raton, FL and many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Zuara Benedetti, Rena Krasula and Argia Monticelli and one brother, Mario Monticelli. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com A blessing service will be on Monday at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home followed by a 10 A.M. Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with Rev. Msgr. Roger Statnick, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. At 3 P.M. Sunday, the rosary will be recited in the funeral home led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
