Richard "Dick" Mark Matovich,81,of Rostraver Towship,passed away on Thursday, July 19,2018 with his family by his side. He was born on August 14,1936,son of the late Mark and Eleanor Matovich of McKees Rocks. Dick graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 1962 and earned master's degrees from both Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the U.S. Army,was an industrial arts teacher and school librarian in his early career,and dedicated 27 years of work at California University of Pennsylvania. Dick also enjoyed traveling,golfing and model trains,but he cherished times spent with his family the most. He played golf in every state,while driving across the country multiple times with his wife. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 48 years,Mary Murray Matovich;two children,Mark Richard Matovich of New Stanton and Melanie Lynn Matovich of Cecil;one grandson,Brock Matthew Matovich also of New Stanton;sister-in-law,Elizabeth Murray of Murrysville;brother and sister-in-law Don and Arlene Murray,nephews Marc (Heather) Murray and Jeff (Nickie) Murray and their families,all of Mt. Lebanon;and two granddogs. He will be deeply missed. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 on July 28 at Rhome Funeral Home,1209 Grand Boulevard, Monessen, Pa 15062,followed by a Blessing service. In lieu of flowers,memorial donations cam be made to the American Cancer Society at 320 Bilmar Dr.,Pittsburgh,Pa 15205.
