Obituary

Services were held this morning for Ignatz Madlenk Jr., 88, formerly of North Belle Vernon, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at 5 a.m. in Country Care Manor, Fayette City. Born Aug. 14, 1920, in Gillespie, he was the son of the late Ignatz Sr. and Roselia Madlenk. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and a retired as a laborer from U.S. Steel, Clairton Works. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Vincent Giovannelli, of Perryopolis, one sister, Amelia Gelotti, of Gillespie, two grandchildren, Jess Giovannelli, of Perryopolis, and Rachel Hoffman and husband Steve, of Fayette City, and two great-grandchildren, Josh and Madison Hoffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Madlenk, on May 30, 1999, and one sister and brother, Helen Albina Teringo and Frank Madlenk. A Prayer Service was held this morning at 9:30 a.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183), followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church.
