Warren Maxen; 90; of Belle Vernon; formerly of Brownstown; Fayette City; passed away Sunday; March 16; 2014; in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 12; 1923; in Barbour County; W.Va.; son of of the late Thomas R. Maxson and the late Lillian Fornash Maxson. He was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.; Allenport plant. Warren was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a former member of the Fayette City C and MA Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Ethel Rhoades Maxen; son-in-law; David England of Monessen; and two special nephews; James Maxson and wife; Jill; of Elizabeth Township and Byrl Sonny Maxson and wife; Edna Mae; of Fayette City; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Sue England; seven brothers; Sanley; Robert; Bryl; Charles;Dana; Thomas and Richard Maxson and two sisters; Lucille Maxson and Betty Lanham. Friends will be received Tuesday; March 18; 2014; from 10 a.m. to noon in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; 334 Main St.; Fayette City; 724-326-5621; www.eleymccroryfuneral home.com. Funeral services will be held at noon in the funeral home with the Rev. Mitch Wall officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery; Belle Vernon.
