Obituary

 

Warren Maxen, 90, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Brownstown, Fayette City, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Barbour County, W.Va., son of of the late Thomas R. Maxson and the late Lillian Fornash Maxson. He was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., Allenport plant. Warren was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a former member of the Fayette City C and MA Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ethel Rhoades Maxen, son-in-law, David England of Monessen, and two special nephews, James Maxson and wife, Jill, of Elizabeth Township and Byrl Sonny Maxson and wife, Edna Mae, of Fayette City, and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Sue England, seven brothers, Sanley, Robert, Bryl, Charles,Dana, Thomas and Richard Maxson and two sisters, Lucille Maxson and Betty Lanham. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, 724-326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneral home.com. Funeral services will be held at noon in the funeral home with the Rev. Mitch Wall officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
