Obituary

Boyd M. Hamilton, 88, of Belle Vernon, went home peacefully to be with his Lord on Sunday,Nov.6, 2011. Boyd was born in Donora, on June 19, 1923, the son of the late Thomas and Jane (Staff) Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton retired from Belle Vernon Area School District, where he served as a custodian in Bellmar Junior High School. Boyd was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. Mr. Hamilton served his country as a Private First Class Squad Leader during World War II in the U.S. Army, 97th Infantry Division. He was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Hamilton, five sisters, Grace Poole, Edith Smock, Mildred Wahl, Eunice Williams and Della Koskoski, and a son-in-law, C. George Bonari. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife of 68 years, Katherine (Kay) Katchmark Hamilton, and two daughters and one son-in-law, Jane Bonari and Judy and Gary Higgins, all of Rostraver Township, grandson, Craig and Renee' Bonari, of West Newton, and granddaughters, Theresa and Thomas Rodriguez, Christina and Larry Guess, and Stephanie and Jeff Indof, all of Rostraver Township, 12 great-grandchildren, Tommy, Tatum, Taylor, and Tessa Rodriguez, Jared, Jackson, Cameron, and Adeline Guess, Dominic and Anthony Bonari, and Connor and Jeremy Indof, one brother, Charles Hamilton, of Fayetteville, N.C., one sister, Norma Lewis, of Monessen, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., (724) 929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Suzanne Currie officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The officers and members of the First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home Tuesday at 7 p.m. to hold services.
