Obituary

June A. Burke Hamrock, 89, of Monessen, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 11:53 p.m. at Havencrest Nursing Home. Born June 30, 1920, in Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Franklin and Margaret Doyle Burke. A lifelong resident of Monessen, Mrs. Hamrock was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon and was a homemaker. A very loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Thomas Kreger, of Monessen, Karen Jewell, of Monessen, a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Jan and Ann Hamrock, of Lake Frederick, Va., five grandchildren, Aaron and Wendy Jewell, of McMurray, Justin and Laurie Jewell, of Belle Vernon, Brian Kreger, of Blacklick, Ohio, Eric and Rachel Hamrock, of Baltimore, and Jodie and Ross Hewitt, of Winchester, Va., three great-grandchildren, Jackson Jewell, Parker Jewell and Kendall Eve Jewell, and a sister, Nolace Burke, of Perryopolis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hamrock, and three sisters, Mary Burke, Georgetta Higgins, and Margaret Hough. Private visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183), with the Rev. Donald A. Bowers, of First Christian Church of Belle Vernon, officiating. Entombment took place at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Condolences accepted at the funeral homes Web site, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
