Raymond D. Dalfonso; 91; of North Belle Vernon; died Saturday; Dec. 19; 2009; in Mon Valley Care Center. He was born in Monessen on July 13; 1918; the son of the late Bill and Concetta Dustolfo Dalfonso. Mr. Dalfonso was the owner and operator of the Raymond D. Dalfonso Funeral Home in Monessen from 1959 until his retirement in February of 1995. Ray was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Monessen Lions Club; American Legion Post 28; Knights of Columbus Council 954; Sons of Italy; all of Monessen; and a former member of the Mon Valley Funeral Directors Association. He was a veteran of World War II; having served with the U.S. Army. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; David L. and Wanda Dalfonso; of Salisbury; Md.; and Raymond J. and Karen Dalfonso of Wescosville; Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law; Mary Ellen Williams-Candek and Jack Candek of Marshall Township; his dear friend; Lois Zurich; seven grandchildren; David; Elaine; Suzanne; Kathryn; Kevin; Joseph; and Jacob; eight great-grandchildren; and by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Norma Celaschi Dalfonso; in 1998; a sister; Jean Komlos; and by an infant brother. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES; 441 Reed Ave. Monessen; (724-684-8750). Services will be held on Wednesday; Dec. 23; 2009; beginning with a 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home; followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery Mausoleum.
