Obituary

Charles E. Brownlee, 87, of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Harold and Ruby Dittman Brownlee, he was born in Washington, PA on February 11, 1923. Formerly of Whitehall, he had resided in Belle Vernon since 1970. Charles was a member of the Charleroi Elks, retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company in 1986 and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army Air Corps. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Maxine Brownlee, one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Pooley of Coshocton, OH, one son and daughter-in-law, Charles ‘Chaz’ and Rene Brownlee of Belle Vernon, one brother, Robert Brownlee of Houston, TX and two grandchildren, Erin Moore, and her husband, Kent, of Louisville, Ky and James Pooley of Irvine, CA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Frances Feeney Brownlee in 1959, one sister, Jean Brownlee and two brothers, John and Jim Brownlee. Funeral services will be in the funeral home Thursday at 10 A.M. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
