John Buck Buchton Jr.; 90; of Fairhope; Washington Township; died Friday; April 2; 2010; in Country Care Manor; Washington Township. He was born March 11; 1920; in Fairhope; son of the late John Buchton and Julia Satar Buchton. A retired coal miner; he was a veteran of the U.S. Army; having served in the Pacific Theater with Merills Mauraders. He was a Life Member of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Co.; Fairhope Rod and Gun Club; and VFW Post No. 699; Belle Vernon. Surviving are his wife; Pauline Komperda Buchton; daughter; Barbara Bridge and husband; Donald; of Belle Vernon; son; Raymond Buchton and wife; Elizabeth; of Port Royal; Va.; four grandsons; Donald Bridge and Georgann; of Great Mills; Md.; Daniel Bridge; of Newport News; Va.; David Bridge and Samantha; of Ellsworth; and Travis Buchton; of Oceanside; Calif. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Sholtis and Susanne Strychalski. Friends will be received Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ELEY-MCCROY FUNERAL HOME; Main Street; Fayette City; and Tuesday; April 6; until 11 a.m.; the hour of service; with the Rev.
