Robert D. Belsick; 52; of Belle Vernon; Washington Township; died Saturday; Nov. 19; 2011; at 6:40 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Nov. 7; 1959; in North Charleroi; he was the son of the late Andrew E. and Olga Studnicki Belsick. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. Belsick was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was formerly employed as a custodian for the Belle Vernon Area School District. Robert was a graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School; class of 1978; was an avid animal lover and volunteered at the Friends of Animals Shelter in Fayette County; enjoyed going to movies; line dancing and family gatherings. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law; Kathleen and Bernard Tychinski; of Washington; Pa.; brother and sister-in-law; Richard and Donna Belsick; of Summerville; S.C.; nieces and nephews; Megan Tychinski; Andrew Belsick and wife Becki; Loretta Belsick; Raynae Tychinski; and several aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by an infant brother; Andrew Belsick. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. Prayer service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick; pastor; as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
