Janet Mae Kuhn, 84, formerly of Speers Hill, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. She was born on December 14, 1940, in Phillipsburg, PA and was the daughter of the late Roy and Alfretta (Zimmerman) Graffius.
Janet was married on July 18, 1964, in Trafford to Edward G. ‘Ted’ Kuhn who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Columbia School of Nursing and obtained a Bachelor in Nursing from California University of Pennsylvania. She retired in 2003 after serving as a nurse at Mon Valley Hospital for 25 years.
Janet was a lifelong Methodist. In retirement, she moved across the US to be close to family. This included 13 years in Winfield, West Virginia; 5 Years in Longview, Texas; and the last 3 years in Kearney, Missouri. Family was an important part for Janet. She took great joy in cooking meals for her entire family. She also dearly loved her many pet dogs and cats.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Baran and Karen (Brad) Myers, all of Kearney, MO, one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Faye Graffius of Ideal, GA and two grandchildren, Jessica Lynn (Brock) Young and Rachel Anne Myers (fiancé Ty Goold), all in the Kansas City Missouri area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. ‘Ted’ Kuhn on August 29, 2016.
