Joan Ann DeMarco; 71; of Washington Township; Belle Vernon; died Sunday; June 28; 2009; in her residence. She was born Sept. 11; 1937; in Pittsburgh; daughter of the late Joseph Altenbaugh and Rita Welch Altenbaugh. She was Catholic by faith. Surviving are a daughter; Rita Giannini and husband; Mark; of Belle Vernon; two sons; James DeMarco and wife Julie; of Michigan; and Francis (Butch) DeMarco of Belle Vernon; a sister; Carole Morrow; of Belle Vernon; a brother; Kenneth Altenbaugh; of Florida; eight grandchildren; Chad Giannini; Jennifer; Anthony; Jessica and Jackie DeMarco; Michael DeMarco; Shannon Martello and Candis Martello; and two great-grandchildren; Michael and Leland Carlson. Also survived by nieces Carrie; Tracey and Claudine; nephews Ed; Keith and Jason; many friends at Speers Fresenius Medical Care ;and her many neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jo El Lynn Martello.
