Agnes M. Melanowski Antal; 87; of Belle Vernon; died Saturday; April 2; 2011; at 10:48 a.m. in Mon Valley Care Center; Carroll Township. Born Feb. 5; 1924; in North Charleroi; she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Sophia Melanowski. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mrs. Antal was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; was a homemaker; enjoyed playing cards with her family; building jigsaw puzzles; walking and loved to cook; bake and feed her family. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Thomas and Linda Antal; of Belle Vernon; Ronald and Mary Esther Antal; of Belle Vernon; and Stephen J. Antal and Linda Freier; of Akron; Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law; Patti and Bill Goon Peden; of Smithton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law; Walter and Mary Ann Melanowski; of Belle Vernon; and Edward and Mary Malenowski; of Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband; Stephen G. Antal; a stepbrother; Carl Pintek; and a stepsister; Ann Duplex. Prayer service will be held Tuesday; April 5; at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A.
