Dianne L. Thompson, 78, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Lynn and Leah (Bennett) Hartbarger, she was born in New Eagle on August 27, 1947.
A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Dianne was a member of the former First Christian Church in Monessen and also of the Red Hat Society. She had been employed at the Pittsburgh distribution center of the United States Postal Service until her retirement in 2009.
Dianne is survived by two sons and a daughter in-law, Chad and Roseann Thompson of Washington and Chris Thompson of York; three sisters, Lois (Renaldo) DiBartolomeo of Belle Vernon, Kathy (Gervacio) Lamas of Arvada, CO, and Rebecca (John) Bailey of Steamboat Springs, CO; ten grandchildren, Hunter, Peyton, Tyler, Gunnar, Colby, Cassandra, Joshua, Ashley, Nash, and Tristan; and five great grandchildren, Cameron, Colt, Alessandra, Anthony, and Adriana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Thompson in 1989, two children, Kelly Valence and Brad Thompson, and a brother, Thomas Hartbarger.
Friends will be received on Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 3 to 6 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will begin at 6 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Dave Watson officiating. Interment will be private in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
