George 'Rudy' Clay, 93, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord , with his family by his side, on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. A son of the late Andrew and Mary Timchek Clay, he was born in Star Junction on December 8, 1925. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and a life member of the Perryopolis V.F.W. Rudy served during World War II with the U.S. Marines receiving a Purple Heart for injuries received at Iwo Jima and retired after 40 years of service from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was an avid woodworker and collected model trains. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Sheran and Alan Summers of Perryopolis and Ruth and Scott Prentice of Virginia Beach, VA, three sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Annette Clay of Belle Vernon, Derek and Sharon Clay of Lindale, TX and Brian and Terry Clay of Sanford, NC, one brother and sister-in-law, James 'Bobby' and Jane Clay of Rockledge, FL, 15 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Lois Pore Clay on May 27, 2018, four brothers John, Andrew, Albert, and Joe Clay.
