Obituary

John M. Jack Everly, 67, formerly of Washington Township, Belle Vernon, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, in Mt. Airy, N.C. A son of the late Matthew and Kathleen Deets Everly, he was born July 21, 1941, in Collinsburg. Jack was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church and a former member of both the Washington Township-Fayette City Lions Club and the Fayette City Volunteer Fire Department. Prior to moving to Randleman, N.C., in 2000, he had lived most of his adult life in Washington Township. He also served in the Army Reserve. Survivors include two sons, John Jack Everly II, of Monongahela, and Nick Albero, one daughter, Susan Freeland, of Charlestown, W.Va., one sister, Kathleen Roebuck, of Madison, three grandchildren, Ronald Bednar, Sarah Freeland and Mikey Freeland, and two great-grandchildren, Blake Lee Bednar and Isaac Freeland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Hileman Everly, on April 22, 2005, two sisters, Nellie May Everly and Dorothy Everly, in infancy, and two brothers, Glenn Warren Everly and James William Everly. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Klein officiating. Interment will follow Belle Vernon Cemetery.
