Obituary

William R. Yesensky Jr., 84, of Charleroi, passed away, Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 10, 1930, in Elrama, the son of the late William R. and Angela Mollen Yesensky Sr. Bill was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Charleroi. He retired from Corning Glass Works, Charleroi Plant. Bill is survived by his daughter, Donna VanVoorhis of Eighty Four; two granddaughters, Louann Beck and husband, Tom, and Jenny VanVoorhis; a brother, James Yesensky and wife, Ilona of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Margy Kuvinka and husband, Eric, and Janet Kossol; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years of marriage, Donna Stanley Yesensky and a sister, Patricia Yesensky. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Christian Church, Walnut Ridge Road, Charleroi, with the Rev. Charles Cochran officiating. Family and friends attending the funeral services are being asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
