Izora "Lute" Elizabeth (Wilson) Carson, 86, of Arnold City went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Cadia Capitol Rehabilitation Center in Dover Delaware. Izora was born in Arnold City, on May 17, 1928, to the late Andrew Wilson and Izora (Phillips) Wilson. She graduated from Marion High School in 1947. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Belle Vernon. She served as a deaconess, a member of the nurses board and served as secretary of the YWBA Nurses Board, a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Secretary, Antioch Mass Choir, Calvary Gospel Chorus and served on various committees including the Foreign Mission, Men and Women's Day, the Scholarship and Stain glass window committees. She was active in her community she was a member of the Mon Valley NAACP, Star of Bethlehem No. 34 OES PHA, Tri - Lighters, Board Member for the Center on the Hill, Marion High School Class of 47 reunion committee. Her hobbies were, gardening, studying the Bible, reading, spoiling her grandchildren. and her morning walks with Carole debating politics. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, the late Elliot (Finley) Carson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca J. Dupree; two brothers, Andrew Wilson and Edgar Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Mary Ann Goff of Northfield Ohio (formerly of Belle Vernon); three daughters, Mary Beth (Philip) Parker, Marsha L. Carson and Marilyn Joy Carson (Marshall Scott); three grandchildren: Marissa Lee Parker, Phylicia Rae Parker and Keshaun D. E. Scott; a special daughter, Linda Marie Carson; and special sister-in-law, Dorothy (Edgar) Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends whom she adored. Visitation will be held 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Antioch Baptist Church, Highland and Henry streets, Belle Vernon. Orer of the Eastern Star Bethlehem No. 340ES PHA service will be held 7 p.m. Friday. Additional visitation will he held 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, in the Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clifford A. Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements handled by WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, Monessen, Trudy Taylor, funeral director in charge.
