Joann L. Vizza; 79; of Monessen; died Friday; Sept. 3; 2010; in Family Hospice and Palliative Care; Mt. Lebanon; following a long; courageous battle with cancer. She was born in North Belle Vernon on Aug. 8; 1931; the daughter of the late Gino and Fabiola (Sylvester) Niccolai. Joann grew up in Belle Vernon; and was a 1949 graduate of Vernon High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen; and had worked as a clerk for the American Chain and Cable Co. Pages Plant in Monessen; and also at the Belle Vernon Foodland. She is survived by her husband of 54 years; Joseph J. Vizza; two daughters and a son-in-law; Teresa and Paul Riskey; of South Park; and Jennifer Vizza; of Southside; Pittsburgh; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Ralph and Marcella Niccolai; of Washington Township; and Harry and Bonnie Niccolai; of Monessen; one sister; Kathleen McCullough; of Belle Vernon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Frank Vizza; of Belle Vernon; Rosalie and Ralph Nicksich; and Dorothy Vizza; all of Monessen; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by a sister; Jean Boyce. Friends will be received on Sunday; Sept. 5; from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Monday; Sept. 6; from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.
