John Snuffy Calvin Whynn; of Monessen; passed away peacefully at the home of his son on Thursday; June 27; 2013; surrounded by his family. Born in Uniontown Hospital Sept. 6; 1950; he was the son of the late Calvin Smith and Doris Whynn Smith and beloved husband of the late Aleena Whynn. He was the father of Kirt Whynn (Miranda) and Waukesta Lee Whynn (Roni); who survive. Also surviving are his loving sisters; Elizabeth East; Shelva Haleaysus; Cheryl Hines; Debra Williams; Patricia Charlock; and brothers; Robert Smith; Bruce Smith and Mark Smith; 19 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held 2 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m. Monday; July 1; at BEVERLY C. DRAPER FUNERAL HOME; Monessen. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday; July 2; at Union Baptist Church; 670 McMahon Ave.; Monessen; with the Rev. Millie Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Friends and family will gather at North Charleroi Fire hall after the service.
