Helen B. Githens; 88; formerly of Belle Vernon; died Monday; July 28; 2008 in the Oak Hill Rehabilitation Center; Greensburg. A daughter of the late George and Helen Surovchak Brindzak; she was born in Pricedale on June 25; 1920. Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and had lived most of her adult life in Belle Vernon. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Kenneth and Kim Githens; of Greensburg; one daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and Lawrence Ihnet; of Langhorne; one sister; Margaret Kelly; one brother; Andrew Brindzak; and four grandchildren; Jill; Todd and Alan Githens and Stephanie Ihnet. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Robert T. Githens; on January 30; 2000; and one brother; George Brindzak.
