Obituary

Eleanor “Jean” Lofink, 85, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026. She was born on Dec. 19, 1940, in Arnold City, Washington Township, daughter of the late Joseph Francis Kuklar and Mary Mildred Kasuda Kuklar. Eleanor graduated from Bellmar High School in Belle Vernon in 1958 and was employed by Atlas Merchandising Inc. in Charleroi. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Church Handmaids and the Rosary Society. She belonged to St. Sebastian Church. She was a devoted Steelers fan, loved to cook and bake, but her main enjoyment was her loving grandchildren. She was married to Thomas J. Lofink Jr. on Aug. 6, 1960. They were married for 38 years when Thomas passed away on July 4, 1998. She is survived by her children, Thomas W. Lofink (Diane, née Clark) of Fairhope, Pa.; Dennis M. Lofink (Tammy, née Scheap) of San Diego, Calif.; and Sheryl A. Benicky (partner, David E. Lamm) of Fairhope, Pa. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Thomas J. Lofink of Fairhope, Pa.; Leah N. Lofink of San Diego, Calif.; Matthew T. Benicky and Katelyn S. Benicky of Fairhope, Pa.; as well as Matthew and Katelyn’s father, Mark T. Benicky; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Ferrero and Joan Sambula; brother, John Kuklar; and grandson, Robert M. Lofink. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at ELEY-MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME, Fayette City, Pa. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor’s honor to the Rising Above Addiction Donate to Rising Above Addiction I Addiction Recovery in Carroll County, Maryland and the American Heart Association.
