Elaine M. Matrozzo, 88, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away in INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA, on Monday, April 11, 2016. A daughter of the late Michael and Mary Keracik Balaska, she was born in North Belle Vernon on February 20, 1928. Elaine was a resident of Belle Vernon for most of her adult life before moving to Woodbridge in 1985. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Mary Louise Wise of Arlington, VA; Linda Bassford and her husband Frederick of Woodbridge, VA; and Ralph Matrozzo of Hampton, VA; 7 grandchildren, Shane Wise, Joshua Wise and his wife Jamiee, Kimberly Meadows and her husband Mark, Tiffany Bassford, Benjamin Bassford, Louisa Matrozzo and Maria Matrozzo; 3 great-grandchildren, Rebecca Meadows and Aiden and Kaley Wise; and a brother and sister-in-law, Michael Balaska and his wife Michelle of Margate, FL. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Matrozzo, on December 27, 1997, and her son-in-law Charles Wise in January 2016.
