Jacqueline N. Johnston, 89, of North Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2017 in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Joseph and Norma Devesse Miller, she was born in North Belle Vernon on November 1, 1927. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon, she was formerly employed by the G.C. Murphy Company in Rostraver Township for over 10 years, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon, and crocheted afghans for anyone that was in need. Survivors include her son John J. Johnston of North Belle Vernon; a sister LaVern Jakela of Donora; a brother Charles Miller of Eastover, S.C.; a step brother Alan Davis of Arnold City; and three nephews, Edward Jakela of Donora and Brian and Jean Paul Miller both of South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband Andrew R. "Indian" Johnston on February 20, 1986; a daughter-in-law, Linda Johnston on November 30, 2009; step brothers, Melvin and Larry Davis; a step sister, Sharon Davis; and her beloved poodle Stella Dora. Friends will be received 7 to 9 P.M.
