Obituary

Albert H. Santo, 80, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at 2:28 a.m. at Country Care Manor. Born July 26, 1930, in Roscoe, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Kacsan Santo. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 50 years, Mr. Santo was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, was a retired clerk in the tube mill office from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid bowler at Lynnwood Lanes, Belle Vernon. He is survived by his wife, Marie Tintori Santo, to whom he was married 50 years, two daughters, Karen Sadowski, of Connecticut, and Marlene Rainey, two granddaughters, Brooke Beck and husband, Jason, and Nicole Rainey, and three sisters, Julie DiRito and Ann Pierard, both of Charleroi, and Lorraine Santo, of Roscoe, and numerous nieces and nephews. The last of six brothers, he is preceded in death by Frankie, Joe, Mike, John and Andrew Santo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and from at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-6183. Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Albert Santo Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
