Obituary

Mary Ann Salvino, 93, of Union, Mo., formerly of Monessen, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, in her home. She was born in Donora on April 19, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Katherine B. Sanboryn. Mrs. Salvino was a resident of Monessen for more than 40 years before moving in 1982. Since then, she has lived in Poquoson, Va., Canonsburg, and Union, Miss. While living in Monessen, she was a member of the former St. Cajetan Roman Catholic Church, and had worked as a sales clerk at the former Fishers Big Wheel in Charleroi. She is survived by two daughters, Karen A. Rockey, of Canonsburg, and Marilyn L. Kuhn, of Newport News, Va., a daughter-in-law, Norma Jean Salvino, of Leslie, Miss., a son-in-law, Brian Kuhn, of Poquoson, Va., five grandchildren, Richard (Mary), Ronald (Mechele), and Robert Salvino, all of St. Louis, Katalin Rockey, of Canonsburg, and Jamie Kuhn, of Poquoson, Va., a friend and caretaker, Mary Schindler, of Union, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Salvino, in 1981, her son, Ronald A. Salvino, in 2009, and a son-in-law, Thomas M. Rockey, in 1994. Friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held on Saturday, May 29, beginning with an 11:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home, followed by a noon Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 618 Knox Ave., Monessen.
